London, UK, 21st November 2018 – New style magazine SODIUM launches in London today, showcasing contemporary culture where East and West meet, through the lens of fashion and art.
SODIUM COLLECTIVE aims to connect global creative talents who are hungry for opportunities and experiences beyond their national border. By highlighting fashion editorials, interviews and lifestyle features from collaborators around the world, SODIUM magazine gives international exposure to emerging talent and provides a supportive and educational platform from which they can grow.
The debut issue features actress Dakota Blue Richards and the work of some of Thailand’s best up and coming designers. With the looming threat of global warming and increased carbon emissions, the importance of sustainable fashion is also explored with some of London’s new graduates at the beginning of their careers – from Thailand-born Plare Pimchanok’s unique take on futurism and tradition to UCLAN graduate Rose Conner’s high-concept structural collection.
Pear Chimma, founder and Editor-In-Chief of SODIUM COLLECTIVE, explained, “Our aim is to connect emerging photographers, designers, and artists from all over the world and offer up the chance to collaborate and create truly breath-taking creative content. We celebrate these talents by creating fashion editorials, interviews and lifestyle features that put them in front of an international stage. In addition to this exposure, we also provide a supportive community, designed to help these talents grow.”
The launch event, taking place today at Istituto Marangoni, includes a “BANGKOK designer showroom LONDON”, showcasing the work of Thai designers – from establish brand PHYA, emerging designers IRADA, CHATO STUDIO, EVERYTHING EST OK, S’RA, GAIA & TERRA and the graduate collection from talented young Thai designer, Plaire Pimchanok, who won the Swarovski Award from one of the UK’s biggest educational platforms, Graduate Fashion Week.
The launch event organised in partnership with Istituto Marangoni.
